Grapefruit smoothie’s are the bomb and full of Vitamin C! I don’t even like Grapefruit. In fact, it’s one of VERY few foods I’m not a fan of. BUT when my coworker brought me a 10 pound bag of Ruby Red Grapefruits straight from the farm, I changed my mind. They were like a giant, juicy piece of ruby red candy.
We added these fruits and a drizzle of agave – mainly because its all we had after not going to the store for over a week. Oopsies. Our new favorite addition to smoothies is dates, the all natural sweetener.
I think we have an endless supply of dates, even after making the Pumpkin Date Cake Bites. I’m not complaining though. They have come in handy for these smoothies.
- 2 ruby red grapefruits
- 2 oranges
- 2 dates
- 2 bananas
- A drizzle of agave
- 1 1/2 – 2 cups of soy milk (yogurt would have been preferable but we were all out)
Peel and then cut your fruit (except the dates) into sections. Freeze them.
Chop the dates into small pieces. Blend the fruit and soy milk together then add the dates and blend again.
Drizzle it with some agave and pour into a glass. Voila!
